The team at Blizzard working on Diablo 3 is ready to reveal some of the changes that it will make for the upcoming Season 3 game mode, even if at the moment gamers can still experience its previous installment until April 5, and a downtime is planned in order to implement the long-awaited patch 2.2.0.

The new items that will be introduced include the Legendary Gems Iceblink and Mutilation Guard, the revamped Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac, Bottomless Potion of Amplification, Dead Man's Legacy, Dread Iron, Nagelring, Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac, Blessed of Haull, Ranslor's Folly, Little Man's Finger and Spirit Guards.

The official announcement also explains that more Conquests are being added for Season 3 of Diablo 3, including On A Good Day, which asks gamers to bring six Legendary Gems to level 40, and Curses!, focused on special events at Level 70 and on taking out 300 monsters.

Blizzard adds, "We’ve also completely re-worked previous Seasonal Achievements to focus more on the challenging accomplishments you can achieve during a Season. There are 100 new Seasonal Achievements altogether in normal and Hardcore, giving you plenty of new challenges to take on this Season."

100 Achievement Points will allow gamers to get a special Season 3 Pennant, and at 400 Achievement Points gamers will also unlock a portrait frame.

The new Diablo 3 season will be live on April 10 at 6 PM Pacific Daylight Time and 6 PM CET in Europe.

Diablo 3 is continuing to get access to new content

Blizzard says that it will continue to run the new Season mode for a long time and that it will use the feedback coming from the players to tweak aspects of it, including how long each period runs for.

Non-seasonal leaderboards will also be probably wiped after Season 2 ends, although that might change in the future.

The development team also claims that it currently has no plans to introduce the new mode to home consoles because it is uniquely suited to the PC version of Diablo 3.

Patch 2.2.0 for the video game is supposed to be introduced between April 5 and April 10, and Blizzard has not offered the full list of changes yet and the company is still to decide exactly when it will deploy it.
