Gamers will be able to get some exclusive rewards

Destiny has been very successful since it was launched and many of the players who picked up a copy continue to play the game, but it seems that the development team at Bungie and publisher Activision are already preparing for the moment when they might need to lure them back using a variety of interesting offers.

DestinyTracker, a fan site which specializes in mining details about the future of the game from the files that the studio is releasing, has spotted references to a new item called Refer a Fireteam.

The official description says, “We celebrate every Guardian who returns from the dark. A gift for you for leading another one home.”

Bungie has not offered any sort of comment on a potential future welcome back offer for gamers who are returning to Destiny after being offline for a long period of time.

Presumably, the company will both deliver some interesting rewards to those who are coming back and will encourage them to bring along a friend in order to earn access to even more exclusive items.

The launch of the Dark Below, the first full expansion for the social shooter, might be a good moment to introduce the new features, so fans might get an official announcement at some point before December 9 of this year.

It’s all part of the ten-year plan for Destiny

The development team at Bungie has said that the new universe it has created for Destiny needs to exist for a ten-year period, and in order to make sure that gamers support it for such a long time, rewards for returning players are a basic requirement.

Blizzard, for example, has run a lot of promotions for gamers coming back to its WoW MMO, especially around the time expansions, like the new Warlords of Draenor, are released.

The Dark Below for Destiny will introduce a wide range of new content, with a Light cap of 32 for all characters and a new set of missions that will ask players to stop a major Hive attack by taking out a powerful enemy god.

There are also three new areas in which Player versus Player matches can take place and a wide variety of new weapons and armor to find and to then use.

In the meantime, the studio plans to continue to listen to the feedback coming from the community and to launch patches and hotfixes.

Destiny will get a second big expansion in the summer of next year.
