14 DAY TRIAL // The team at Bungie announces that at the moment Destiny is affected by problems on the Xbox One home console from Microsoft, with the error code NEWT involved, which are actively investigated by the studio and should be solved by the end of the day.
The official Twitter account does not say how many players are impacted by the connectivity issues and whether there is anything that they are able to do in order to try and improve their situation while the problem is being evaluated.
It’s also unclear why the Xbox One is affected, but there are no Destiny problems reported on the PlayStation 4 from Sony.
Previously during the day, Microsoft announced that some services associated with Xbox Live were down for a short while, but has since said in a message that they are all back up and running and only Leaderboards and Achievements are still having problems.
Bungie has been dealing with network-related issues linked to Destiny since the title was first launched and the company has gotten very good at identifying problems and delivering hotfixes in order to deal with them, if required.
Destiny is in the middle of an Iron Banner event
The Xbox One issues that the social shooter is experiencing at the moment are unfortunately timed because the company has just launched a new version of the Iron Banner event, which allows gamers to engage in Player versus Player battles in order to get exclusive rewards.
Players can take part until January 19 and the nine included weapons that can be earned are truly impressive.
They will be needed later in the month as Bungie introduces the new Hard mode for the Crota’s End raid.
Gamers might also find new uses for them later in 2015 when the company will introduce the new expansion, called House of Wolves, which is designed to deliver as much content as The Dark Below, including a major late game raid with a powerful boss encounter.
After that, the developers will introduce an even bigger content drop, with big new environments and story missions.
