Destiny apparently holds a fair number of secrets, one of which is a yet undisclosed Crucible PvP playlist titled Trials of Osiris, where all the action takes place on Mercury.

Bungie released the science fiction shared universe first-person shooter almost two weeks ago, and since then millions of players from all around the globe have been toiling away, trying to see what the former Halo developer hid within the expansive universe of the title.

The information regarding the secret Trials of Osiris is brought to us by some intrepid users who have come upon it by means of data-mining, as revealed by NowGamer.

What are the Trials of Osiris?

The hidden Crucible mode is a 3v3 action-packed affair intended to allow the most dedicated Destiny PvP-ers to go head-to-head against each other.

Unlike the Iron Banner mode, which is purposely unbalanced in order to offer a more accessible kind of experience, the Trials of Osiris will only be accessible to the very best, who seek to find out how they stand up to other similarly skilled gladiators.

The playlist is set on Mercury, a planet which so far has not been accessible to players, making this the first time when anyone is be able to set foot on it and explore it.

"Trials of Osiris (Skirmish): 3v3. You have caught the eye of Osiris. Venture to Mercury and prove yourself as one of the Crucible's elite. Only the worthy may face the Trials of Osiris, for only the worthy are strong enough to endure what is to come. A string of victories will earn great rewards – but lose three times and you're out," the in-game description reads.

The mode seems to be organized in a manner similar to how Hearthstone's Arenas play out, where you can keep playing until you lose three times, after which you claim your reward and you're out, with the spoils of war growing increasingly more attractive the more victories you can score.

How to get into the Trials of Osiris

For the time being the information on how to access the hidden mode is scarce, but apparently you'll need to procure a Tournament Ticket, which can only be obtained through playing Crucible on any of the available modes.

In order to improve your odds of getting a Tournament Ticket, you need to keep playing (preferably winning) various modes, which will increase your Activity Reward Bonus.

The Activity Reward Bonuses are specific to each game mode, so, for instance, if you keep playing Control games, you'll increase the odds of getting rewards in that particular mode, which means that you're better off focusing on a single game mode, in order to maximize your chances to get a ticket and unlock the playlist in the Crucible.
