Good news for Destiny players who were waiting for Bungie to finally announce when exactly the next expansion would be launched.

That time has come this weekend, as Bungie has just confirmed that House of Wolves, Destiny's second expansion pack, will be available for download beginning May 19.

The new content should be available simultaneously on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Destiny: House of Wolves will cost $19.99 (€19.99), just like the previous expansion launched by Bungie, The Dark Below.

However, Destiny players who also purchased the Season Pass will be able to get this expansion for free. Destiny Season Pass costs $34.99 (€34.99) and includes three expansion. One of them has already been released, whereas the second will be available in May.

The third major content release is expected to arrive sometime this fall, but not many details are known on that expansion yet, so stay tuned for more on this one.

New gear, modes and activities added in the second expansion

House of Wolves, on the other hand, introduces some new weapons, armors and gear, which can be unlocked by playing new story missions.

In addition, Bungie has confirmed that the new expansion will add three new competitive multiplayer maps, as well as a new cooperative Strike.

There's a new competitive elimination mode in the Crucible and an all-new arena activity called The Prison of Elders. Also, the Reef is open. In the second expansion, players will be able to join the Awoken and hunt down the Fallen.

Here is the expansion's short description: “Expand your Destiny adventure with House of Wolves. Only the bravest Guardians will hunt down the rising Fallen threat and lay claim to the mysterious treasures of The Reef.”

According to Bungie, they intend to share more details on the new activities, modes, events and gear included in this expansion, so stay tuned for more.
