Bungie is planning to introduce one in 2015

Video game developer Bungie has already announced that it will be launching the House of Wolves expansion for Destiny on May 19, but some fans of the social shooter might be disappointed to learn that the team has no plans to introduce a new raid in the package.

The company claims that the amount of work that has gone into the new content means gamers will get a range of new activities to complete, including an entirely new end-game sequence.

Bungie adds in a new update that "We didn’t make this decision lightly. Our team has been humbled by the reception of Raids in Destiny and we are creating a new Raid for a release later this year."

The studio is secretive at the moment and says that it will use the entire coming 30-day period in order to introduce more information about the new gameplay options.

An entirely new raid for Destiny will be added before the end of 2015, but the company is not saying whether it will be a standalone offering.

The content might be a part of another expansion, which is codenamed Comet and is at the moment planned to arrive at some point in the fall.

The Prison of the Elders is designed to be the replacement for a new raid, described as a battle arena.

No gameplay details about it have been offered so far.

Bungie is focused on gear upgrades

House of Wolves is adding more strikes to Destiny, and there is also a range of weapons and items that will be introduced to the social shooter.

Gamers who already have Exotic and Legendary gear will be able to upgrade it, so that it stays useful.

The first batch of details about House of Wolves will be arriving on April 22.

Until then, gamers can look forward to the deployment of update 1.1.2 for Destiny.

Bungie aims to improve the balance of the weapons included in the game, and it will also make big tweaks to the already existing raids and the Vault space.

There are also plans to improve the accessibility of the title.

Once update 1.1.2 is out, the development team says it will listen to the community in order to learn what other improvements it might make in the future.
