14 DAY TRIAL // After presenting a small teaser trailer and organizing a special live stream, Bungie now unveils some more actual details about its upcoming House of Wolves expansion for Destiny, going in-depth about the enhanced Reef area and the gear upgrade systems.
Destiny launched back in September of last year, delivering a multiplayer shooter experience that, while highly controversial, managed to win over the hearts and minds of many avid players across PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
Developer Bungie released the first major expansion last December, in the form of The Dark Below, and it's currently getting ready for the next major DLC, House of Wolves, which is set to debut next month.
While some details were revealed by the studio and others were leaked by fans, a special live stream took place yesterday focusing on the enhanced Reef zone that's included in the add-on, as well as the great upgrade mechanics.
Lots of surprises are coming in House of Wolves
First up, it seems that all Destiny players will be able to visit the enhanced Reef zone once House of Wolves launches. However, if they want to interact with the non-playable characters or vendors, they have to buy the add-on. Those who do so must then play through the new story missions before attempting the new Prison of Elders cooperative battle arena experience.
New options are also coming for some NPCs on the Tower, such as the Speaker that can now perform material exchanges.
Legendary and Exotic-quality gear, meaning weapons and armor, will all gain an Ascend upgrade on the left of their tree, allowing for new upgrades. New perks are coming for weapons included in House of Wolves.
