The development team at Bungie announces that it will launch a new Bungie Bounty event for Destiny on January 28, with the community asked to hunt a number of players if they want to get access to bragging rights and unique rewards.

The official announcement describes those who will be targeted, "They elevated our contributions and helped us to find each other in the dark. And they still do. On their front page, you’ll find their favorite community creations. Within the hallowed halls of their forum, you’ll always find a rousing debate among some of our longest-standing fans."

The list of targets for Bungie Bounty includes: Louis Wu, Beorn, Gwath Gil, XenosKB, Malagate and DeeJ BNG.

The event will take place on January 28, between 7 and 9 PM Pacific Time, using the Xbox 360 home console version of Destiny.

The team adds, "If you can kick our ass, we’ll give you this emblem. If they can defend their honor, we’ll adorn them with the marvelous bubble. Matchmaking is not assured. You’ll have to patrol the playlist. Good hunting to all. We’ll stream the battle in progress. They will be the hosts."

The developers are also teasing a more difficult bounty event for the near future.

Destiny is getting a new expansion soon

Bungie has not yet announced clear plans for the next expansion which will be launched for its social shooter.

However, a leak says that House of Wolves will be delivered on all platforms during March and is set to introduce the same amount of content that was featured in The Dark Below.

Apparently, Bungie has learned from its previous mistakes and plans to deliver content which slits more easily into already existing mechanics.

An even bigger expansion is planned for the summer of this year.

In the meantime, the studio is seeking to keep the community engaged with its social shooter by launching events, like the Bungie Bounty or Iron Banner, and by delivering hotfixes and major patches that tweak the balance of the title and eliminate the glitches that the community is using to make high-end content easier to complete.
