Windows 7 PCs should no longer be available after October 31

October 31 is the day when Microsoft puts an end to sales of new PCs running Windows 7 all over the world, asking partners and retailers to switch to Windows 8 for new computers.

While it could take some time until all inventories are cleared, there’s no doubt that OEMs and retailers across the world are trying to get rid of Windows 7 computers as fast as possible, so this could be the right moment to get yourself a powerful PC with a really big discount.

Dell is one of the companies that have always sold computers running Windows, and just as expected, it still provides a range of PCs powered by Windows 7, despite the fact that Microsoft, which is actually one of its closest partners, is aggressively promoting Windows 8.

Today’s Dell homepage reads “Windows 7 for the win” as part of a promo that’s clearly supposed to encourage buyers to get the very latest computers running Windows 7 and available in stock.

Big discounts also offered

Needless to say, this promo also includes some pretty significant discounts on new Windows 7 computers, so for example you can purchase a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series (Intel) Non-Touch with a 30 percent price cut.

There’s no doubt that these computers are available in limited numbers, so if you plan to purchase one, you clearly have to hurry up.

Dell, on the other hand, is planning to sell all of them as soon as possible, as after Friday, the company must focus exclusively on Windows 8, and stocks of Windows 7 computers will no longer be replenished.

Waiting for Windows 10 also a choice

Since Windows 8 isn’t quite the best choice for some users out there, we’ve heard that many prefer to wait for Windows 10 and only then purchase a new computer.

Windows 10 is expected to fix the desktop and make everything much better for PC users with a mouse and keyboard, bringing back the Start menu and other helpful features, such as multiple desktops.

At the same time, Windows 10 will run on the same hardware specs as Windows 7 and Windows 8, so hardware that can handle it shouldn’t be too expensive as compared to what you can find right now on the market.

According to sources, Windows 10 should launch in spring 2015, as public testing is already underway as we speak.
