Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, the full-fledged re-release of the impressive RPG and its DLC packs, not to mention many other improvements, has just received a special upgrade offer on the PC platform for owners of the original release, not to mention a set of requirements for the DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 versions.

Dark Souls 2 launched worldwide back in 2013 and delighted millions of role-playing game fans with impressive mechanics, a good story, and the same challenging approach to gameplay that made its predecessor such a hit.

Developer From Software and publisher Bandai Namco are getting ready to debut this April Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, which includes the original game, its Lost Crowns DLC packs, and a variety of other improvements for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms.

PC owners of the current game can upgrade using a new offer

The two companies confirm on the official website some fresh information about PC owners who already own the regular game, and who can use a special upgrade system to get Scholar of the First Sin for a smaller price.

First up, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin is available in two versions on PC, one for DirectX 9, which costs 40 USD/EUR, and one for the DirectX11 technology, which costs 50 USD/EUR.

Owners of the base Dark Souls 2 experience on PC can get the DirectX 11 version of the game for 30 USD/EUR. Those who also have the Lost Crowns DLC packs can score it for just 20 USD/EUR.

The official PC requirements are also available

Besides confirming this upgrade offer, Bandai Namco and From Software have also shared requirements for the DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 versions of Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, so that PC owners can make an educated choice when it comes to what edition they can buy and run on their own configuration.
