On Plead the Fifth on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live

Dane Cook has somewhat of a reputation of being a major “douche” and it doesn’t seem like it would be going away anytime soon, not if he continues to give interviews like the one below. The comedian is promoting a new standup routine, so he stopped by Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live to talk about it.

He also took part in the segment Plead the Fifth, in which host Andy Cohen asks very direct and very revealing questions of his hosts and they have to answer all except one, on which they can plead the fifth.

For Cook, he made things a bit more interesting, through the inclusion of a can of cheese: Cook was to have cheese from it squirted right into his mouth for every question he refused to answer. So, if you want to look at it that way, he had no reason to want to avoid answering them.

A gentleman never kisses and tells

Still, voices online are saying right now, he could have been a bit more gracious in his replies, like many other celebrities before him have done. As you can see in the video below, he named Kate Hudson as his worst-ever on screen kiss and revealed which was the dumbest thing Jessica Simpson said to him on the set of “Employee of the Month.”

“I think [Kate Hudson] purposefully ate like a feast of onions before the scene,” he said of his first kiss with the actress for “My Best Friend’s Girl.” In his defense, he makes it sound as if he told Kate just how badly her breath smelled, and they both had a good laugh at it.

Asked by Cohen which was the dumbest thing Jessica told him on the set of the movie were they met and started dating, he acts as if he’s having a hard time picking just one. “She said one day, ‘Are we making a movie?’ That was kind of dumb,” he laughs heartily.

In the same segment, Cook reveals that he probably slept with hundreds of groupies when he was younger and would tour university campuses with his standup number.

All these answers have made him a target online because many found them crass and shameless to the extreme. Dane Cook should stop acting like a douche, lay off the Botox and get a good reality check, angry voices are saying.

People need to chill, lay off Cook for a while

It’s true that he could have worded his answers differently and that he should have laughed less when speaking of how Jessica Simpson was, because that would have been the gentlemanly thing to do but seriously, isn’t this outrage a bit too much?

After all, all he did was answer questions Cohen asked him. Shouldn’t those who criticize Cook right now do the same to Cohen, for asking him about these things? Shouldn’t we remember all those times public figures made fun of Jessica for being dumb, and criticize them too? And there were plenty of those because, let’s be honest here for a second, she can say the dumbest things at times.

No one’s denying that Dane Cook acts like he’s the hottest things since sliced bread at times, but the hate he’s getting right on celebrity blogs seems a bit out of place.

However, all those saying he needs to lay off the Botox are probably right. Check out his “offensive” interview below.
