14 DAY TRIAL // Sony Online Entertainment has announced that DC Universe Online's next update, Amazon Fury Part II, will be coming out early this year.
DCUO has garnered a massive following since its debut in 2011, especially after the game went free to play. Now it's just one of the many shining examples of F2P MMOs on consoles, which SOE President John Smedley used to point out the viability of such exploits.
The next chapter in the free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game's history is the second installment in the Amazon Fury trilogy, taking the fight between Wonder Woman, Circe and Hippolyta, the Amazon Queen, to the realm of the divine.
The action will be further intensified by the arrival of Ares and Hades, as the conflict departs from the mortal realm and expands even further.
Players will have to battle alongside Circe or Wonder Woman through the depths of the underworld, in order to uncover the mystery of what really happened to Hippolyta.
A wealth of new content
The DLC pack will see the debut appearance of Ares, the God of War, Hades, the God of the Underworld, and the three-headed demon hound Cerberus, as well as more mythological figures.
Players will be able to explore three new eight-player raids, the Labyrinth of Lost Souls, the Halls of Hades, and the Throne of the Dead, which will also feature an Elite version, meant to appeal to hardcore players who want an additional challenge.
Return to the Nexus and Act of Defiance are two new four-player operations that fans of cooperative multiplayer will be able to indulge in, and for those who favor playing the game on their own, there is also a new single-player mission waiting in the Gotham Under Siege version of Gotham City.
In addition to this, the upcoming Amazon Fury Part II DLC will also come packed with a wide variety of new player rewards, including themed base items, feats and collections, as well as more skill points and new player gear.
Amazon Fury Part II is DC Universe Online's 13th DLC pack and will be made available on PC and the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 computer entertainment systems from Sony, sometime early this year.
