Techland has released a fancy video showing a couple of the members of the Dying Light development team enjoying the game's cooperative mode.

Dying Light is a zombie survival game that's a little late to the party, as the fad has already subsided into oblivion, but it comes with a few exciting features that make it worthwhile to pick up even if you're not usually a fan of zombie apocalypse scenarios.

The game is set in the fictional city of Harran, after a deadly viral outbreak turns the majority of the population into shambling, mindless killing machines.

Dying Light is played from a first-person perspective and includes a ton of melee combat, as well as an exciting parkour navigation system designed by David Belle, the inventor of the thing, in order to provide a realistic and immersive experience.

Of course, realism isn't the game's only focus, so you'll be able to perform a ton of flashy, acrobatic moves and enjoy over-the-top action like cutting zombies in half with swords, or, in the words of "Pulp Fiction's" Marsellus Wallace, getting medieval on them.

Always better with friends

Not many people realize that Dying Light can also be played in multiplayer, and its online cooperative mode supports up to four people scavenging, rescuing, and fighting off the zombie hordes in Harran at the same time.

The video highlights some of the challenges available to players enjoying the game together, including a zombie killing competition or missions to take out as many enemy soldiers as possible or to chase a runaway zombie.

The open-world nature of the game means that gamers can simply look for stuff to do while within its world.

Furthermore, by pre-ordering Dying Light, you'll be able to gain access to a special asymmetrical 4v1 multiplayer mode where you get to be the zombie, assuming control of a powerful ravenous beast and invading other people's worlds.

Dying Light is coming to PC, to the Xbox One home console from Microsoft, and to the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system from Sony, at the end of the month.
