The latest addition to Lava Mobile's portfolio of Android smartphones is called Flair P1. Don't get your hopes too high, though, because this is a pure entry-level device.

Beginning this week, customers in India will be able purchase the Lava Flair P1 for only Rs 3,399 outright, which is about $53 or €49. That's a very low price even for an emerging market, but it's that low for a reason.

First of all, Lava Flair P1 ships with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right out of the box, which isn't surprising considering the phone's price tag.

There are mid-range handsets launching in India, which are still powered by an older version of Android, so Flair P1 is quite decent when it comes to software.

Unfortunately, the smartphone is equipped with a 1GHz single-core processor, which is complemented by 256MB of RAM and 2GB of internal memory, fonearena notes

That's very low even for a budget-friendly smartphone. Furthermore, the Flair P1 packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), as well as dual-SIM support with Dual Standby.

A completely unimpressive, but very cheap Android phone

On the back, Lava's dual-SIM smartphone packs a modest 2-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

Speaking of which, Lava Flair P1 offers 3G connectivity, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio and GPS with AGPS support.

Last but not least, the entry-level smartphone sports a small 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, while the lights are kept up by a 1,400 mAh batter, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

Those tempted into buying this modest, but cheap Android smartphone should know that they have the option to choose between the Black and White versions.
