The development team at Firaxis launched a major update for Civilization: Beyond Earth a few weeks ago, designed to correct some of the issues that the player base had been complaining about since launch, but a few other smaller problems were added in the process.

Now, a hotfix designed to eliminate the bugs is offered for the PC version of the game, with the Mac also getting it in a few days.

The full list of changes revealed by Firaxis includes:

- Quantum Computer and Promethean now function correctly.

- Ectogenesis Pods now give the correct Food per population.

- New Terran Myth now correctly applies culture to trade routes between different factions.

The development team is also taking feedback about the video game on the official forums and will use it and other data to determine what other changes it needs to make to Civilization: Beyond Earth in the future.

The Winter Update for the turn-based strategy title was designed to make Wonders more interesting to build and use and to better balance the various factions and Affinities.

Since then, Firaxis has also launched Sid Meier's Starships, a fleet-based title that shares a universe with and can be connected to Civilization: Beyond Earth.

The strategy title might also get an expansion later in the year

Civilization: Beyond Earth is a complex video game which challenges gamers to explore a new world that can support human life and to decide how their small group of settlers will shape the destiny of their nation and the very idea of humanity.

The game sought to catch the attention of those who loved the classic Alpha Centauri experience, but it is in many ways much closer to classic Civilization than fans were expecting.

At the moment, the overall game experience and balance are solid, but Firaxis will probably want to introduce some new features and maybe even some alien factions to play as, just as Alpha Centauri did with Alien Crossfire content.

Given the schedule for previous Civilization titles, Beyond Earth will probably get at least two expansions, with one possibly announced in the coming weeks and delivered to fans before the end of the year.
