File this under “crazy things celebs say”

Singer Chris Brown is known mostly for his hits outside of the studio, but every once in a while, he does manage to get on top of the charts. In his mind, that gives him the authority to express his opinion on serious subjects too, like the current Ebola virus crisis.

Chris appears to be unaware of the fact that when celebrities speak on serious matters without having an inkling about the problem at hand, they often end up harming themselves more than anybody else. Because when Chris took to Twitter to give his two cents on the Ebola crisis, the result was so ignorant and offensive that it's hard to believe he didn't get his account suspended.

Brown managed to be incredibly insensitive when he sent out his tweet about the Ebola virus

In one of his most erudite tweets in a long time, Chris told his millions of followers, “I don't know … But I think this Ebola epidemic is a form of population control. [expletive] is getting crazy bruh.”

If there were such a thing as internet police, at this point, there would be cop cars pulling over next to Brown's house and screaming from a bullhorn, “Step away for your computer and put the keyboard down!”

What's more hurtful isn't the fact that Brown is ignorant on the subject and willing to express an opinion that both insults and doesn't help the matter at all, but the fact that some of his followers are equally ignorant because they approved of his comments and egged him on.

People fighting the epidemic have already begun slamming the singer for his tweet

Some charities have already spoken out against Brown's statements and described them as “crude” and “thoughtless,” saying that they are a distraction from the life-saving work that people are putting in to stop the spread of the deadly virus.

It's not clear if Brown, who has made some controversial statements in the past as well, was merely trolling or he genuinely thinks Ebola is here to kill off as many people as possible, but either way, many think that he should stop and issue a formal apology.

This is the last in a series of Ebola-related news which also included celebrities. Most recently, Australian rapper Iggy Azalea was caught on camera cursing out a paparazzo who just wouldn't leave her alone and wishing him to get Ebola, which is never a nice thing to say, no matter the circumstance, but especially when the virus is wreaking havoc in Africa and has now spread to Europe and the US.
