It's been less than a month since Indian OEM Videocon launched its Infinium Z45 Nova+ mid-range smartphone and it looks like the company is back with yet another Android handset.

The new Videocon Infinium Z51 Nova has just been launched in India and will soon be available through all major retailers across the country for just Rs 5,400 outright, which is about $80 or €75.

“As a consumer-centric brand, we aim to satisfy the emerging needs of consumers and in line up to the same, we have launched Z51 Nova, which offers stunning design, utmost reliability and a smooth, faster and best-in-class smartphone experience to the consumers,” said Jerold Pereira, CEO, Videocon Mobile Phones.

Considering the low price, customers shouldn't expect any fancy specs. It's also worth mentioning the Infinium Z51 Nova will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right out of the box.

If you're looking for a cheap smartphone with Lollipop, then you should look elsewhere since the Infinium Z51 Nova will certainly not receive another major OS upgrade in the future.

Large display, but low resolution

So, here is what you get for the price you pay. First of all, Videocon's budget-friendly smartphone sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that, sadly, supports 854 x 480 pixels resolution, a new report confirms.

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

Luckily, the Infinium Z51 Nova packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). Also, the device comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a modest 2-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

Other highlights of the Videocon Infinium Z51 Nova includes 2,000 mAh battery, dual-SIM support, 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.
