The folks over at Ninja Theory, developers of DmC: Devil May Cry, have just announced they have partnered with Capcom to launch a Definitive Edition of their game on next-generation consoles.

DmC: Definitive Edition will be launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 17, 2015. The game will be released in both Europe and North America at the same time for $39.99 / EUR 39.99 / GBP 29.99.

According to Capcom, there will be a Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well, but it will only be available in summer 2015.

Moving on to DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition contents, Capcom confirmed developer Ninja Theory will revisit their original game with the purpose of improving as many of the major features as possible.

For starters, Capcom announced the game will run at 1080p and smooth 60 fps across both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Hopefully, they won’t backtrack on this statement later on during the development.

The graphics will be upgraded, including textures, characters and cinematics. And, surprise, a new cinematic scene that never made it into the original game will be included in the Definitive Edition.

So, the Definitive Edition will contain all previously released downloadable content, including the “Vergil's Downfall” campaign, as well as new modes and additional gameplay features.

Graphics will be improved and new content will be added

There will be some new stuff included in DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition, such as the fact that players will be able to play as Dante's twin brother himself in Vergil's Bloody Palace Mode.

Additionally, those who believe they are up for a challenge can give the newly added Gods Must Die and Must Style Mode as well as Hardcore Mode a try.

Capcom also announced that DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition players will receive new Dante and Vergil costumes, which will be inspired by classic Devil May Cry character designs.

Apart from the new content included in the game, the Definitive Edition will come with some long-awaited balancing and improvements changes based on fan feedback, as well as modifiers that can be turned on at various stages, including Turbo Mode.

Manual target lock will be one of the new features to be implemented into DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition, which will work as close to the classic version of the game as possible. The new lock system will feature fully configurable controls.

The Turbo Mode will allow players to increase the speed of play for a much faster and intense combat. Leaderboards, trophies and achievements will be included, as well as social features, on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
