The development team at Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision are announcing that they are collaborating with the Xbox brand from Microsoft to launch a new edition of the Call of Duty Championship, which is set to take place between March 27 and 29 in Los Angeles and will have a total prize pool of 1 million dollars (788,000 Euro).

The money represents a strong incentive for the 32 teams from around the world that will be invited to take part, all of them selected based on the performance of their members and their ability to entertain the community built around the first-person shooter.

Gamers will be playing the recently launched Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on Xbox One consoles during the competition and the exact venue will be revealed at a later date.

It’s unclear how many tickets will be offered to fans and what are the streaming options that the involved companies are exploring at the moment.

The official announcement explains that there are plans to create a number of qualifying events for the 2015 Call of Duty Championship in Asia, Australia, North America, South America, and Europe all through February and early March.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is getting ready to get access to Havoc

The development team at Sledgehammer Games has revealed that the first major downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, called Havoc, will be launched on January 27, presumably only on the Xbox One and the Xbox 360.

Gamers who get the package will be able to play on four new maps and can also enjoy the Exo Zombies mode, which asks four players to combine their powers in order to hold back a constant stream of undead.

Until then, the developers might also deliver a new major update for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which is designed to improve the overall balance of the title.

There are three more DLC packs that are set to be launched for the shooter this year and the studio has said that it is listening to all feedback coming from the community.
