Use the weapons and powers as part of scorestreaks

After its official reveal yesterday, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 now receives details about its multiplayer mode, which, instead of allowing users to create their own character, makes them choose between nine specialists, each with their own unique weapons and powers.

Previous Call of Duty games have delivered some intense multiplayer experiences, in addition to their story modes. However, with Black Ops 3, developer Treyarch is shaking things up, as it's already confirmed that the story campaign features four-player cooperative play.

New multiplayer details confirm big changes

The multiplayer mode in Black Ops 3 continues these sweeping changes, as Treyarch removes the possibility of choosing a soldier and then customizing him or her, like in last year's Advanced Warfare. Instead, at the beginning of a map players must choose between nine specialist characters. They include male, female, and even cyborgs, and come with unique weapons and powers.

Four of these nine characters are already confirmed, via IGN, starting with Ruin, who employs Gravity Spikes that allow him to leap in the air and then slam the ground in an area-of-effect attack. His power is called Overdrive and brings bonus movement speed for a limited time.

The second one is Seraph, who has a powerful revolver called the Annihilator that's a one-hit-kill weapon and can penetrate through foes. His Combat Focus power offers bonus multipliers for your scorestreaks.

Outrider is a female character with a bow called the Sparrow, which shoots explosive bolts. Her power is Vision Pulse, which tags enemy locations around your area and allows you to see through walls.

Last but not least, there's Reaper the robot, who employs the Scythe, which is a minigun that emerges from his arm for quick and easy destruction. His Glitch power allows him to go back to where he was a few seconds ago.

The weapons and powers of the specialists are activated just like scorestreaks, so don't expect to always walk around wielding them to full power. These are all in addition to the loadout you pick for your character.

The multiplayer mode still makes use of a thruster pack, but the movement system has been tweaked to allow for wall jumps and other such things.

Expect more details about Black Ops 3 to emerge as we get closer to its launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 6, worldwide.
