Gamers on other platforms will have to wait one month

Video game developer Treyarch, publisher Activision and platform creator Sony are announcing that they are now working in order to deliver a range of extra content initially for those who own game on the PlayStation 4 and the PS3.

The companies are also saying that an official beta for the multiplayer side of the game will be offered on the Sony devices at some point in August, allowing users to test the core mechanics of the title for the first time.

Treyarch will also use the period in order to see exactly which elements of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 need to be tweaked before the title is delivered to the entire community.

Mark Lamia, one of the leaders of the development team, was present on stage during the E3 2015 press conference and talked about the core ideas of the game and the way it will deliver a new take on the franchise.

He also seemed to suggest that the new exclusivity deal would work like the current one for the Xbox One and the 360 does, which means that Sony fans will get downloadable content about one month before the rest of the fans.

At the moment, Treyarch has not talked about its DLC plans for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, but the new installment will probably get the four packs that are typical for the franchise.

Combat is moving to the far future

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has a campaign that is set in 2065, at a time when augmentation and the evolution of robotics have changed the nature of war in unique ways.

Treyarch is aiming to take some of the ideas that Sledgehammer Games has tested with Advanced Warfare and expand on them, with more space on the battlefield for exo-suits, advanced weaponry, and powerful drones.

Player characters can be entirely customized, and the campaign is playable cooperatively by four gamers for the first time in the series.

The studio is also making big tweaks to the classic versus multiplayer and the zombie mode, although no full details have yet been offered.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and older devices on November 6 of this year.
