Gamers can also get other high-level gear

The development team at Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision announce that they are introducing a new mechanic to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, called the Supply Drop Daily Challenge, which is designed to give the player community a new way of getting access to the look they need to improve the capabilities of their characters.

The official announcement on the community site explains that “Each day, you’ll receive a randomized message containing a challenge that, when completed, will award your character with an XP bonus and Supply Drops, or a rare piece of Character Gear from the Exclusive KVA Recon Character Gear Set.”

Those who play Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will see the new daily challenges in the Find Match menu and the Challenges menu, which makes it easy to track how close a player is to completing them.

The company says that a number of game modes will feature them and they might include achieving an objective, getting a number of kills with a weapon, and others.

The KVA Recon character gear is also associated with the new mechanic.

Alex Jessup, an associate concept artist working on the game, states, “The design for the KVA Recon gear was intended to be bold and high-contrast while still feeling grounded. The matte green on white was inspired by winter gear, and the dark-on-light makes it stand out while still looking military.”

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set in the future, but the team wants to make at least part of the gear look believable and utilitarian.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is preparing for the first full DLC pack

At the moment, the developers at Sledgehammer Games are focused on delivering the first major downloadable content pack for the shooter, called Havoc, which is supposed to arrive in the first few months of next year and will be first playable on the Xbox One.

It will introduce four new maps for gamers to enjoy in multiplayer and will also add the long awaited Exo Zombies game mode, which allows teams of players to battle undead hordes.

The studio will also continue to deliver small updates for the game, which are set to make it easier for gamers to stay competitive even if they are not able to play each day and allow them to aim for the top of the leaderboards.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is at the moment the biggest entertainment launch of 2014, although its sales have been smaller than Activision was initially expecting.
