Video game developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision are announcing that they are introducing a double experience period for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which will run for the rest of the day and will allow gamers to improve the level of their characters.

At the same time, the company is saying that all those who are playing the first-person shooter starting from now until the end of the week on Friday, March 20 at 9 AM Pacific Daylight Time, will also get free access to the Atlas Engineer EXO.

After that date, gamers will only be able to get the content in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare using the new Advanced Supply Drop mechanics.

The new feature is designed to allow gamers to get a range of new options for their character without actually playing, by using real world money to pay for packages in the official store of the game.

The idea is to introduce a range of new items that are offered for all those who do not have a lot of time to play Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and the development team is saying that the Advanced Supply Drops will not affect the overall balance of the title in a negative way.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set to get a new DLC in the coming weeks

The delivery of a new set of cosmetic items for characters to use and the introduction of Advanced Supply Drops, coupled with the double XP, will certainly introduce an uptick in the number of players.

But most of the community is at the moment interested in getting more information on the Ascendance downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Sledgehammer Games has not offered any sort of details about the multiplayer maps that will be introduced, but the studio will probably try to include a mix of interesting mechanics.

Weapons from the DLC are already offered to those who have the Season Pass for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The new content will be initially only available to those who own the shooter for the Xbox One or the Xbox 360 and gamers who are playing on the PC, the PlayStation 4 or the PS3 will have to wait for almost a full month to access it.
