The tournament starts on March 27, all action is streamed

The team at developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision announce that they have confirmed the full tournament groups for the upcoming Call of Duty Championship 2015, which will start on March 27 and will feature the best 32 teams in the world playing for a prize pool of 1 million dollars (850,000 Euro).

The official site explains that the initial draw looks like this:

Group A - OpTic Gaming, NextGaming - NxG Rapid, Vitality X and Team Orbit

Group B - Denial eSports, HyperGames Team, Klar1ty Gaming and Prophecy

Group C - FaZe Red, FAB Games Germany, fabE.Allstars and Automatic Reload

Group D - OpTic Nation, Gamers2, SSOF Gaming and Exile5.T1

Group E - EnVyUs, Team Menace, uX Gaming and Plantronics.Mindfreak

Group F - Revenge, Aware Gaming, Infused and 3sUp

Group G - FaZe Black, TCM Gaming, Ascentia and DA.Below Zero

Group H - Team Kaliber, Epsilon eSports, Integral and Strictly Business Gaming.

The group matches will run through the first day of the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Championship finals, and at the moment, the favorite for overall victory is OpTic Gaming.

All the action will be shown on Twitch by the organizers and the team at Sledgehammer Games also wants to use the occasion to give players a first look at gameplay taken from the new Ascendance downloadable content pack.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is also getting new hardware

For the Championship Edition of the shooter, KontrolFreek is introducing a new, exclusive thumbstick accessory linked to the shooter, which has a metallic gold on black color and is designed to improve player performance.

The new solution is set to make medium and long-range engagements easier, with an improvement of 118 percent in terms of motion range.

It's unclear how many of the eSports professionals taking part in the finals of the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Championship will use it.

The Ascendance DLC for the title is set to be introduced on the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 on March 31, with four new competitive multiplayer maps, a new Infection episode for Exo Zombies and more weapons.

Sledgehammer Games has also suggested that it might deliver a new update in order to improve overall balance for weapons in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
