The game also has problems on the Xbox One

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare might be heading for a rather troubled launch as a number of gamers who are looking to get access to the title on the PlayStation 4 home console using the PlayStation Network service are reporting problems with their downloads.

Sony is aware of the issues and has put up some info on the official support page, where it says that all those who are unable to install or to run the title, especially in its Day Zero incarnation, should delete the data they have already downloaded and then restart it.

At the same time the company is advising all gamers to check and make sure that they have the most recent firmware update for the PlayStation 4 before they try to once again get Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Sony might be adding more details on the support page once the community offers more details on the issues it is facing.

Similar issues were previously reported for the Xbox One version of the first-person shooter from developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision.

It's unclear whether the problems with the game are widespread or if just a small number of players are currently unable to access their Day Zero Edition of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Launching on November 4, playable one day earlier

With Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, the team at Activision has tried to introduce a new way for hardcore fans to show their allegiance to the franchise by getting the Day Zero Edition, which unlocks one day earlier and allows players to get double experience for their characters for a 24-hour period.

The reported issues, on both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, might turn the experiment into a failure and might actually hurt long-term prospects for the title, mainly because fans could wait to pick up a copy until they are sure that no other bugs are present.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the first game in the series to move to the future and that allows the development team at Sledgehammer Games to introduce new toys, like the exo-skeleton, a plasma rifle and a gun that can actually print its own bullets.

The new player suit is designed to increase mobility, which is used by the new design of the maps, and there are more options to avoid enemy fire and to deliver powerful melee attacks, but there are also more classic modes for the multiplayer side of the shooter.
