14 DAY TRIAL // Britney Spears’ personal life has always been a topic of interest with the glossies, if only for the reason that her loyal fans want to know if she’s ok. They should breathe easy knowing that she’s not about to have her heart broken again anytime soon.
Earlier this year, Britney’s 18-month romance with attorney David Lucado came to an abrupt end when he cheated on her and was careless enough as to allow himself being filmed while engaging in more-than-flirty behavior with the woman he cheated with.
As it usually happens, the footage was sold to the highest bidder, but Lucado took action before its release and informed Britney of what he’d done. She dumped him, and as a result, the video never made it out online.

Rumor has it that it was Britney’s father who prevented the release of the video, by purchasing it from the media outlet that was going to go public with it. He was also the one to get David to pack his bags and he made sure he understood he was never to contact the pop star again.
Britney has had a series of failed romances and she’s in no condition to handle very stressful situations. Following her 2009 meltdown, she was placed under a conservatorship, with her dad acting as conservator. So he was just protecting her when he took the reins and made sure the Lucado romance ended.
Still, the betrayal still stung Britney especially since she’d already gushed in interviews about him, saying she loved him, and even hinting they were talking about starting a family together.
Moreover, Lucado spent a lot of time with her and her kids with ex-husband Kevin Federline, Sean Preston and Jayden James, so now she has to see them miss him too. “It’s kinda sad,” an insider says for Radar Online.
Heartbreak makes Britney swear off men for a while
“Britney says she is done with men for now because they all cheat!” the source continues. “She is not going to let another man into her life because she has two young men as it is that love her very much. She says that is all the man she needs for now.”
So Britney has decided to give the single life a try for a while, which is good for her. It’s not like she can rush into a rebound romance, after all: her boyfriends have to be “screened” by her father even before things get serious, which further complicates the process. She probably doesn’t want the extra headache right now.
She is probably too busy to even want to date. The Princess of Pop is now in the middle of her 2-year Las Vegas residency at the Planet Hollywood, with reports saying they want her to stay on at least for another year, if not more.
Billboard reports that Planet Hollywood got a boost in revenue of about $20 million (€15.67 million) since Britney got started on her residency, so, naturally, with this kind of cash flowing in, no wonder they want her on board for as long as possible.
