Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is coming out next month, and developer Gearbox Software has released another video showcasing the crazy action that's about to hit us.

This time around, two of the iconic characters in the Borderlands universe are in charge of explaining the ins and outs of life and death on Pandora's moon, in the form of Mr. Torgue and Sir Hammerlock.

As the two previous installments in the series accustomed us, Borderlands is full of crass and creepy humor, and the third episode doesn't let anyone down.

The duo is as crazy as you'd imagine, and the action on-screen is even more over-the-top than in the predecessors, thanks to a few new welcome twists, as well as to a some brand new playable and non-playable characters.

A brief overview

Life on Elpis is no walk in the park, and in spite of the low gravity, giving you the impression that everyone is joyfully prancing around, it's a pretty gruesome affair.

Gamers will be able to choose from four playable characters, all brave and gritty Vault Hunters: Athena, Nisha, Wilhelm and Claptrap.

In addition to this, the video also offers some new details on the Grinder, a brand new feature that enables you to turn your vendor trash loot into brand new, shiny and explosive new stuff.

The video also gives a brief outline of the story, following Handsome Jack's rise to power, after the events of Borderlands but before the ones in Borderlands 2, hence the first-person shooter's quirky title.

A lot of new stuff

Throughout your adventures on Elpis, you'll come across a lot of familiar faces, including Lilith, Roland, Moxxi and many others, but you'll also stumble upon fresh characters that you may have already seen in previous teasers, such as Janey Springs, Nurse Nina, and other such zany individuals.

In addition to this, playing on Pandora's moon introduces two new elements to the gameplay equation, in the form of oxygen, that aside from being required for breathing, can also be used for propulsion, and the low-G environment, enabling you to navigate maps in a new and fun way, by performing incredible jumps and gravity stomps.

Moreover, a new type of elemental damage joins the previous ones, in the form of ice-based weapons, letting you shatter your enemies into hundreds of shards, not to mention being a great opportunity to slide in some corny Mr. Freeze puns.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is coming to PC, the PlayStation 3 home console from Sony, and the Xbox 360 home entertainment system from Microsoft, on October 14 in North America, October 16 in Australasia, and October 17 in Europe.
