The studio needs more people for the new Borderlands game

Usually when someone says that in order to find out more details on a subject you have to attend an event, you automatically assume that you will indeed find out more info on that matter.

But that does not apply to everyone and especially not to Randy Pitchford, Gearbox Software’s CEO, who teased a Borderlands 3 announcement a few days ahead of his studio’s theater panel at PAX South 2015.

When asked about a possible Borderlands 3 reveal, he answered that in order for us to know more about the next game in the franchise, we will have to follow Gearbox’s panel from Sunday.

Well, it looks like that panel was never meant for a Borderlands 3 reveal, instead Gearbox announced the next DLC for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Lady Hammerlock which will be launched on February 27 in North America and one day later in Europe and Asia.

Gearbox is now looking to hire for the next Borderlands game

According to Gearbox officials attending to the panel, Borderlands 3 is not even in production. Randy Pitchford himself said that “there is literally nothing to tell” when asked about Borderlands 3.

Obviously, we believe him since Gearbox is looking to add more people to the team for the next Borderlands game and that will take some time.

Randy Pitchford has even sent a few tweets confirming Gearbox is now looking for “great artists, designers, coders, producers and other developers” to help shape up Borderlands 3 or whatever the name.

An email address has been provided as well for those who want to apply for these jobs offered by Gearbox. So, there you have it folks, the next Borderlands game, “the big one,” will probably take a few years to be released, but the first details on the setting, plot and characters may arrive as early as next year.
