Gamers can already start planning their approach

The development team at From Software and publisher Sony are eager to give gamers as much information about Bloodborne as possible ahead of launch, especially when it comes to the new ideas the title will explore, and a new video is designed to reveal the wide array of weapons that can be used to take out enemies in the world of the game.

The footage might be just two minutes long, but it does manage to cram in a lot of implements of destruction, both ranged and bladed, with at least one hammer apparently designed to be bigger than the actual character wielding it.

The combat-focused video also shows some bosses and environments, although nothing entirely new is offered for Bloodborne fans.

The focus on weaponry means that it is also easy to see how the combat in the new title created by From Software will be different from the experiences they have already delivered.

The team has already said that it will try to reward players for being offensive and for taking the battle to their enemies, and apparently opening an attack with a salvo from the ranged weapons will be a solid tactic, although it seems to leave the character open to a counterattack for a limited time.

Bloodborne will also include shields for the main characters, but even they are designed to offer just a small reprieve, with gamers who use them to protect themselves unable to get health bonuses that come from defeating the monsters.

From Software aims for solid difficulty, more accessibility

The developers have said since their new title was first announced that they want to deliver a title able to draw in a big number of players without compromising the difficulty level for which Dark Souls was known.

The story of the experience will be focused on Yharnam, a city famed as a healing center which hides a dark secret.

Gamers will have to move through the metropolis, dealing with enemies and trying to piece together a mystery which will lead them to a powerful evil entity.

Bloodborne will be launched only on the PlayStation 4 home console on March 24 in North America and one day later in Europe.
