Bloodborne has just received some fresh details straight from Sony, concerning its support of the DualShock 4 controller on the PS4 console and how it handles when being played on the PS Vita through the special Remote Play feature.

Bloodborne launches later this month, and while some early copies have already fallen into the hands of a few lucky PS4 owners, there are still plenty of details that are a mystery.

Thankfully, Sony has just presented a new hands-on article on its PS blog concerning some of the lesser known features of the new role-playing experience that's coming from Japanese studio From Software and its own Sony Japan team.

The DualShock 4's touchpad is used by Bloodborne

The role-playing game uses the PS4's power and a wide array of features, starting with the DualShock 4 controller. The special touchpad on the gamepad allows players to check out different items and gestures.

More specifically, clicking on the right side allows them to browse their personal effects (molotovs, notebook) while clicking the left side presents the available gestures. These can be selected and activated using the DualShock 4's internal motion sensor.

Bloodborne also works great on PS Vita via Remote Play

As most PS4 titles nowadays, Bloodborne also works on the PS Vita through the Remote Play feature, which streams the footage from the home console to the portable one.

According to the article, in order to compensate for some of the missing input options on the PS Vita, a few basic things have been remapped on the small console.

As such, the L2 and R2 buttons, which trigger the gun and strong attacks, are enabled on the PS Vita through the bottom corners of the front touchscreen.

The aforementioned DualShock 4 touchpad options are triggered by pressing the left and right halves of the front touchpad, while the R3 button, which locks onto an enemy, is enabled on the PS Vita by pressing the right half of the rear touchpad.

While the translated controls might take some getting used to, Sony is certain that playing Bloodborne on the PS Vita through Remote Play will work fine.
