A brand new report has appeared online that's filled with details about the game's mechanics, from dying to respawning, fighting or buying new items in the Hunter's Dream hub environment.

Bloodborne is one of the most anticipated games of the new year, as millions of PS4 owners are looking forward to the new role-playing game made by Japanese studio From Software, the maker of hits like Demon's Souls or Dark Souls, in collaboration with Sony Japan.

While the game is set to debut in March, not a lot of things are known about its actual role-playing mechanics, nor how it reimagines some of the mechanics seen in past From Software titles, such as Dark Souls 1 and 2.

A new report brings fresh details about Bloodborne's gameplay

Thankfully, a new report has surfaced online, via Gamepur, and it brings forth a variety of fresh information about the PS4 exclusive RPG, detailing some of the more specific mechanics that players will have to deal with.

First up, it seems that players begin the game by getting a blood transfusion, which turns them into a hunter. Furthermore, the Hunter's Dream location becomes a hub environment, where players can spend their blood echoes (the souls from past titles) in order to buy new items. From the Hunter's Dream, players can warp into the real world and begin their battle.

Lanterns will act as the bonfires from Dark Souls in the new game. Here you'll respawn in case of death, which, knowing the challenging nature of past games made by From Software, will happen quite often.

Dying no longer leaves behind a bloodstain or anything like that. Instead, if you want to retrieve your lost blood echoes, you have to kill the enemy that took you down. The creature's eyes will glow in order to differentiate it from the rest, so plan accordingly.

While it's unclear if the parry & riposte combination is present in Bloodborne, there is a new "Visceral Attack" that requires players to hit enemies from behind with a charged attack, or shoot them from the front as they ready an attack.

Players will be able to find NPCs in houses whose lights are turned on, and some offer special trinkets that give some serious advantages. One, called Bold Hunter's Mark, allows players to reawaken at the last lantern they visited with all their blood echoes intact after dying. It's unclear if it's a one-use item, similar to the Dark Souls Ring of Sacrifice.

Bear in mind that this is just a report and From Software hasn't commented on it.
