The critter got terribly angry when the woman shooed it

Earlier this week, on Wednesday, a woman in New York, US, was rushed to the hospital after having been attacked by a squirrel with serious anger management issues.

Luckily, the blitz attack didn't leave the woman with any life-threatening injuries. One of her fingers was the only casualty, and her doctors reassure that she will make a full recovery.

The woman never even imagined the squirrel would attack her

As mentioned, the confrontation took place just a couple of days ago, on Wednesday.

Mirror tells us that it was at about 4:30 p.m. local time that, while walking down a flight of stairs at the Woodlawn Subway Station in Norwood, the victim encountered a gang of squirrels.

Rather than let them be and simply walk past them, the 24-year-old Metropolitan Transportation Authority train operator shooed them and tried to chase them away.

One of the squirrels refused to be bossed around by the young woman and fought back.

Luckily, the blood-thirsty critter channeled its anger towards just one finger. Sure, this extremity had it rough, but at least the woman's all other body parts remained safe and unharmed.

“There were some squirrels about and she tried to shoo them away so one of them bit her on the finger,” an unnamed witness told the press in an interview.

Following the attack, paramedics were called at the scene

It is understood that, following the attack, a team paramedics were called in to bandage the woman's bleeding finger and rush her to the nearest hospital.

Here, the woman's injury was patched up by trained physicians. Since she had no other wounds and the finger injury was a minor one, the 24-year-old was not hospitalized.

For now, it is unclear whether law enforcement officers will go in search of the squirrel and arrest it, or if maybe the critter will get away with being such an unpleasant fellow.
