Are you an iPhone owner not really content with your purchase? Would you be willing to switch to a BlackBerry smartphone? If the answer to both questions is “yes,” then you might want to take advantage of BlackBerry's new trade-in program for iPhone users.

Apart from the Black Friday deals that we reported on yesterday, which include BlackBerry Passport and BlackBerry Z30 at huge discounts, the Canadian company is now trying to lure iPhone owners with a yet another great deal.

According to an official statement, the BlackBerry Passport Trade-Up Program is aimed at iPhone users who want to switch to the company's brand new BlackBerry Passport smartphone.

And what better time to switch to a new operating system than when you're given the chance to grab a flagship smartphone at a very low price?

So, for a limited time, beginning December 1, Apple iPhone users will be able to upgrade to a BlackBerry Passport and get up to $400 CAD / USD (€285 / €320) on their iPhone. But that is not all, as BlackBerry offers an additional $150 USD / 120 EUR ($200 CAD / 140 EUR) from its own coffers.

BlackBerry has also confirmed that the current trade-in program will run from December 1, 2014 through February 13, 2015. If you haven't guessed it yet, the promotional offer is only available in North America, so customers in the United States and Canada are the only ones eligible for the trade-in program.

Last but not least, BlackBerry has announced which iPhone smartphones qualify for the trade-in program: iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, and 6.

BlackBerry Passport is much wider than the iPhone and sports a usual square display

The Passport is BlackBerry's new flagship smartphone and sports a usual 4.5-inch square capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1440 x 1440 pixels resolution.

Another distinctive feature of the Passport is the unique capacitive touch 3-row physical keyboard, which is supposed to offer a superior typing experience.

Hardware-wise, the Passport is equipped with a 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit, and 3GB of RAM.

The smartphone is packed with 32GB of internal memory, but if that's not enough for you, then you can further expand storage up to 128GB via a microSD card.

On the back, there's an improved 13-megapixels photo snapper with autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization) and LED flash. The smartphone's camera can capture full HD (1080p) videos, but there's a change that BlackBerry will add 4K video recording in a future update.
