A full list of “select” products in Apple’s Friday deal

By now, you must’ve already heard that Apple isn’t offering any actual discounts on the products it sells through its channels this Friday, and even worse, it has skipped Europe altogether.

However, if your heart is filled with holiday cheer (and your wallet with green), you can head over to the US Apple Store and try on some of these (RED) offers that yield iTunes Gift cards and aid the Global Fund in fighting AIDS in Africa.

Black Friday is (RED) at Apple

Apple has decided to couple today’s shopping event with (PRODUCT)RED deals that will direct millions to the Global Fund on Monday. Apple is a proud supporter of World Aids Day and the PRODUCT(RED) initiative, which entails big-name brands to raise charity money.

While it didn’t bother to offer Europeans anything this time around, in the US Apple is indeed giving away something: $25, $50, and $100 iTunes Gift cards for products like iPhone, iPad, and Mac. So let’s take a look at the “eligible” products together, shall we?

iDevices – from $25 to $50

Apple rarely includes the iPhone in any special promotions, but it has eased up in recent years. Case in point, the iPhone is now part of Black Friday (and many other deals as well) and it yields a $50 gift card, which translates into about €40.

Eligible iPhones include all current-selling hardware except for the ones that don’t cost anything on contract. Yep, you guessed it. The iPhone 5c is not included in the deal. The rest of the pack – iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus – is.

iPads that can yield a similarly-priced gift card include the iPad Air 2, and the iPad mini 3. No ifs or buts. Apple won’t award you a card if you choose one of the older models still on sale.

As far as the iPod line of players is concerned, you can get a nano or a touch for their normal asking price and get a $25 gift card, which amounts to about €20 for who’s asking. Apple TV is included as well and comes with an identically-priced iTunes card. Same goes for the Beats audio gear.

Macs – all the way up to $100

The more expensive Macintosh computers will obviously herald a much more valuable gift card. Any of the “eligible” Black Friday Macs on sale today will sprout up cards valued at $100 (€80). The user can spend that cash in the iTunes Store on music, apps, e-books, movies, TV shows, and more digital stuff. Something tells us they’d rather have $100 off the purchase price of the Mac itself.

Speaking of which, the eligible models include the all-new 5K iMac with Retina display, four different MacBook Air configurations, and another four configurations of the MacBook Pro.
