Just go for the ones that are obviously beneficial

Since Apple isn’t offering much of a discount when you buy an iPhone 6 from them today, you’d be inclined to say they’re not willing to play ball. Well, neither is anyone else for that matter. Not when it comes to the iPhone 6.

Usually, carriers and resellers beat Apple to the punch when Black Friday kicks in, but this time around, it’ll be really hard to find a deal that’s in your clear advantage. So here’s where you can look for the real deals.

Verizon, Target, and Walmart

Verizon seems to be offering the heftiest savings, but only if you plan on buying an iPhone and an iPad. That’s right, the American operator will slash $200 (€160) off the price of an additional iPad purchase. Nothing off the iPhone itself, though.

Target is one of the few that will actually shave off a few dollars. You can get the iPhone 6 (16GB) for $179 (€143) with a two-year contract, and they also throw in a $30 (€24) gift card with that purchase.

Walmart is said to be cutting as much as $200 off if you trade in your old device. They don’t make it too clear though. Is this is a trade-in price or is this a Black Friday discount? They also have some card deals to go along with the offer, pretty much like everyone else.

No-offer

Sprint, AT&T, and not even T-Mobile are offering any price cuts on the phone. Not yet, anyway. T-Mobile is the only one that has a section dedicated solely to Apple fans, but there are no discounted prices for the iPhone 6. AT&T offers discounts on older models, such as the iPhone 5s, and they too have a trade-in program. Up to $300 (€240) can be saved with these guys, but we’re guessing only if it’s a pristine 128GB iPhone 5s.

ThankShopping.com is flashing a press release claiming to offer the best iPhone 6 deals for this Friday. Unfortunately, all they do eventually is hand you a link to Amazon to check out the prices there.

Why is the iPhone 6 so “precious?”

Well, because Apple wants it that way. The exorbitant prices at which resellers and carriers buy them don’t allow for further discounts. Heck, if Apple won’t do it, how can they? However, you can expect substantial discounts next year, and if you’re not bent on having the latest and the greatest, everyone enumerated above (except for ThankShopping.com) will offer one or more deals on older iPhones.

Be diligent in finding the best Black Friday deals and don’t spend more than you can afford.
