A report claims that Cosby sacrificed his daughter for the sake of his own reputation, offered her story to a tabloid

It seems that not a day has passed this week without some disturbing Bill Cosby story or revelation. More and more women have stepped forward to admit that they had been molested by the comedian along the years, as well as a former employee for a TV studio who claimed that he brokered deals to pay some of these women off.

Today's report is even more disturbing, but at the moment, we have no clue if it's real or not. Page Six claims that in 1989 Bill facilitated the leak of private details about his daughter Erinn's struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, in order to prevent the publishing of an expose about his scandalous love life that The National Enquirer planned on doing.

Veteran journalists confirm Cosby sold his daughter out to the tabloids to prevent his raunchy Vegas story from being published

The author of the piece, Richard Johnson, claims that he heard the story from a journalist he's known for many years who, back in 1989, was working at the National Enquirer. The publication was planning on running the story they considered to be “solid” about Cosby's scandalous affairs, at a time when his TV shows had record-breaking ratings.

Their story was that Cosby was “swinging with Sammy Davis Jr and some showgirls in Las Vegas.” So they contacted the comedian for a comment, hoping to get a retraction or at least a dry “no comment.” But what they got instead was Cosby spilling the beans on his daughter in order to make The National Enquirer forget about his escapades in Vegas.

The source claims that his editor told him that the story came directly from Cosby in the summer of 1989 and it involved his 23-year-old daughter Erinn who was battling drug and alcohol addiction at the time.

When he gave the story to reporters, Cosby is reported to have said about telling on his own flesh and blood, “Deep down inside, she knows we love her.”

The claims would come back years later to haunt the comedian who is now facing serious backlash from the public

He may have dodged a bullet that time, but later, the scandals would hit the press after more and more women joined their voice in the public forum to say that Cosby had abused them at one time or another. This began in 2004 and hit a high point (or better said low point for Cosby) earlier this month.

At the moment, there are no fewer than 18 women who have accused Cosby of abuse and/or drugging and raping them, and more are expected to come forward at this point, at the rate of one per day.

The TV icon has vehemently refused to address the issue in any interviews and went out of his way to prevent a question about the rape allegations being introduced into an interview with AP at the beginning of November.

His legal team, headed by prestigious lawyer Marty Singer, has also denied any and all of the claims, calling them false, ludicrous and completely made up. They suggest that these women chose to stay silent for many years and now, all of a sudden, have decided to come forward.

Legally speaking, Cosby isn't risking anything since the statute of limitations means that he can't be investigated for incidents that took place in the ‘70s and ‘80s. Also, most of the women lack the physical evidence to hold their cases up in court.
