The development teams at DICE and Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that they are launching a new double experience gain period for both Battlefield Hardline and Battlefield 4, which is set to last for one full week on all the platforms on which the titles are available.

The official Twitter account for the series says that gamers will be able to log into the two shooters at any point until next Monday in order to get some extra XP and level up their characters faster than they would do otherwise.

The two development teams have not announced any other events for the coming week.

Fans of Battlefield 4 are at the moment looking for more information about the launch date for the Spring Patch for the title, which is supposed to introduce a full rebalance for weapons, five new ones to use, and other tweaks to the gameplay.

The map that was created in collaboration with the community is also set to be delivered to the entire player community for free.

At the moment, all the new content is being tested in the CTE version of Battlefield 4.

Visceral Games might also use the double XP period to announce the changes that it plans to make in the coming patch for Battlefield Hardline and might even deliver some sort of details about the launch window for the first piece of downloadable content for the title.

Battlefield Hardline was a good launch for Electronic Arts

The new shooter in the long-running series was originally seen as a minor entry by fans, who were so critical of the mechanics they saw in the testing period that they made the development team implement a delay to fix various issues.

But the financial results of Electronic Arts show that Battlefield Hardline has managed to sell pretty well and will probably bring in more money as DLC for it is being launched.

The publisher has also revealed that a new entry in the franchise will not be launched for the foreseeable future.

DICE is at the moment focused on the development of Star Wars Battlefront, which will be launched in the fall of this year, and after that, the team will have to also work on patches and downloadable content for it.
