The new multiplayer game is a lot of fun

Battlefield Hardline is out for two weeks now and some things are becoming pretty clear when it comes to its multiplayer mode, such as the fact that Hotwire is the runaway favorite for quite a lot, but not quite all members of the community.

Battlefield Hardline launched a few weeks ago across PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms worldwide. The new title brought forth a pretty different experience than previous games in the series did, opting for a cops vs. criminals theme, instead of regular armed warfare between major armies.

Developer Visceral Games used its new focus to deliver quite a few wildly different gameplay modes than past Battlefield experiences, including Hotwire, but also Heist, Blood Money, Rescue, Crosshair, in addition to emblematic Battlefield game types like Conquest or Team Deathmatch.

Hotwire is the favorite right now

However, while Hardline is filled with different modes, it seems that the runaway favorite is Hotwire, largely because it nails the right amount of innovation, but also a good amount of familiar mechanics.

At its heart, the mode is a Domination experience, as players must occupy certain things in order to dwindle the supply of tickets from the enemy team. Only instead of various zones, like in Battlefield 4's Domination, Hardline tasks players with driving marked vehicles at high speeds in order to actually affect the score of the other team.

This change is small in terms of concept, but huge in terms of gameplay repercussions. The traditional Domination experience of turtling in a checkpoint and fending off enemy attacks, or trying to breach the defense of another team, is replaced with something much more alert and intense.

In this mode, most players can enjoy different things, as those who like driving vehicles are in heaven because that's the purpose, while those who favor infantry warfare can set up chokepoints to try and destroy the marked vehicles driven by enemies.

Throw in the good roles played by supports like engineers, and by those who like flying in a helicopter, and you have a very attractive experience.

Sure, those who want more gunfights can try other modes, while those who want more cooperation can try the 5v5 types, but for most players, Hotwire is great.
