Video game developer Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that they are planning to offer some special rewards in Battlefield Hardline to all veterans of the series who buy the game and engage with it.

A Veteran's Pack is set to be offered to all those who have previously owned Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3 or Battlefield 4.

It will include an in-game patch to show off their status, a 200 percent objective boost which is active for a 30-minute period and a 200% teamplay boost that will be used for the same period of time.

The official announcement from Visceral Games and Electronic Arts adds, "If you own any of the three aforementioned games on any platform and have an Origin account, the Veteran’s Pack will be available automatically the first time you login to Battlefield Hardline."

The Veteran's Pack can only be redeemed for copies of Battlefield Hardline which are registered on Origin before the end of the year.

It's nice to see that the developers reward the long-term fans of the franchise with a special pack, but some of them will probably react by saying that the boosts offered are too limited, even though more will probably make the multiplayer unbalanced.

Battlefield Hardline aims to be more dynamic and faster

The new shooter is no longer focused on the military theme and will use a narrative based around the conflict between cops and criminals to deliver battles that are faster and have increased dynamism.

Visceral Games says that every element of the game, from weapons to vehicles, items, modes and map design, has been created to make sure that each player can construct a character adapted to their own style and then find interesting ways to use it.

The game was delayed from the fall of last year after the community reacted negatively to its mechanics and its relative lack of differentiation between factions.

At the moment, the studio is making some final tweaks to the core mechanics based on the feedback and the data gathered in the recent open beta period.

Battlefield Hardline will be out on March 17 in the United States and on March 19 in Europe and can be played on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and last-gen consoles.
