The development team at DICE and publisher Electronic Arts announce that they are planning to restart the servers which support Battlefield 4 on the PC, the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, the PS3, and the Xbox 360 today at different times in order to implement a number of unspecified upgrades and changes.

At the moment, there’s no official list of changes and no details on how the game experience will be improved or for how long the multiplayer side of the title will be affected.

The official Twitter of the series announces that the event will happen on the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 3 at 12 AM Pacific Time or 9 Central European Time.

The server restart for the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 4 will take place at 2 AM Pacific Time and 11 CET.

The company will offer more updates on the potential issues that the restart introduces on its official Twitter account once it has completed the planned changes.

The community is not too happy with the decision and has been asking for the two companies to be more clear about the changes that they are planning to make on Battlefield 4 and to explain how the restart times are chosen.

Battlefield 4 support might be slowing down

On November 18, DICE and Electronic Arts launched a new piece of downloadable content for Battlefield 4, called The Final Stand, which is at the moment offered to all those who subscribe to the Premium service.

The rest of the community will also get access to it on December 2.

A significant patch for the game was also launched to accompany the delivery of the new DLC and that means that all those who are playing it should have a better overall experience with the shooter.

It’s unclear whether there are plans to implement more server restarts in the coming days and weeks in order to make other changes to the various modes.

At the same time, DICE continues to deliver potential changes for the Community Test Environment and the fans can test them and decide whether they need to be implemented in the full game or not.

The next installment in the franchise is called Battlefield Hardline, developed by the team at Visceral Games and set to be launched in March of 2015.

The game will focus on the conflict between law enforcement agencies and criminal cartels and is supposed to offer solid experiences in both single and multiplayer.
