Batman: Arkham Knight developer Rocksteady Studios has brought forth a brand new gameplay video for its upcoming open world experience, this time showcasing both the Caped Crusader and his Batmobile in all its glory against a fleet of robot tanks while infiltrating the Ace Chemicals plant in Gotham City.

The Batman Arkham games have delivered some of the most impressive action adventure experiences of the last few years, proving that super-hero games based on comic books can work really well if the gameplay is catered to the special abilities of the characters.

In the three games so far, namely Asylum, City, and Origins, players are able to control the Dark Knight as he goes on all sorts of adventures in an ever increasing portion of Gotham City, against an ever increasing number of foes, from the Joker or Two-Face to the Penguin or Ra's al Ghul.

For the next game in the series, Batman: Arkham Knight, developer Rocksteady is introducing an all-new character called the Arkham Knight, as well as quite a few new mechanics, chief among which being the actual Batmobile that's fully drivable in the game.

A brand new video shows off the iconic vehicle

Now, a fresh gameplay video has just been rolled out by Rocksteady in order to depict just how impressive the Batmobile really is. This second trailer in the so-called Ace Chemicals infiltration series continues from where the first one left off, with Batman using his vehicle to break into the plant and dispatch justice to the villains holed up within.

After checking out the Batmobile in its regular pursuit mode, which is designed for roaming around the city at higher speeds or pulling off different jumps with the built-in afterburner, the new footage shows the vehicle in its battle mode.

Batmobile battle mode is revealed in all its glory

In this specific situation, the wheels of the Batmobile rotate to ensure maximum mobility on the battlefield and perfect handling in tighter spaces. A special canon with different types of ammo raises from the machine, which can be locked onto enemies by the player.

As you can see, Batman faces off against small robot tanks, so he needs to employ the homing missiles, which are fired from the Batmobile and seek out the closest robot targets.

The vehicle is quite versatile at least in the Ace Chemicals infiltration, so check out the impressive video below. The last part in the series is set to be rolled out at the Game Awards 2014 event later this week.
