A Batman Arkham Collection package is going to launch for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles later this year, according to a new report which claims that all the older titles in the series, in the form of Asylum, City, and Origins, will join the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight on the new platforms in remastered forms.

The Batman Arkham series has been around for quite a few years now and proved, with the initial Batman: Arkham Asylum entry, that superhero and comics-based games can work really well if new mechanics are devised to match the source material.

Since then, developer Rocksteady Studios and publisher Warner Bros. have released other installments, like Batman: Arkham City, and while Rocksteady took extra time to work on the upcoming Arkham  Knight, the publisher tasked its Warner Bros. Montreal team to deliver Arkham Origins back in 2013.

Older games are getting remastered for new consoles

The two companies are working hard on putting the finished touches on Batman: Arkham Knight that's set to debut in June for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but it seems that, at least according to a new report, all the older titles will also get remastered for the PS4 and Xbox One platforms.

More specifically, several reports, via Videogamer and IGN Italy mention that Batman: Arkham Asylum, City, and Origins are currently being remade for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles and will appear as part of a Batman Arkham Collection later this year, probably in the fall or winter.

It's quite possible that all the DLC packs, not to mention the bonus skins and outfits for Batman, Nightwing, and the other characters will be bundled inside the special collection.

Other details, such as performance figures or special features, are a mystery, so expect an official announcement to appear in the future, maybe at E3 2015 in June, right after Arkham Knight launches worldwide.
