Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, a remake of the original game that was initially released back in 1998, has landed in the GOG digital store for the Linux platform.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition has been enhanced and modified for newer platforms by a studio called Beamdog. The game has been around for a couple of years for Windows users and the Linux version was just a promise. However, Linux users can now also play the game and the GOG distribution platform can boldly say that it also features this version of the title.

"Running on an upgraded and improved version of the Infinity Engine, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition™ includes the entire Baldur's Gate adventure, the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack, and never-before-seen content including a new adventure and three new party members: the Calishite monk Rasaad yn Bashir, Neera the wild mage, and Dorn Il-Khan, the evil blackguard," reads the entry on GOG.com.

The system requirements have been published as well. Users need to have at least Ubuntu 14.04 or Linux Mint 17, an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU processor, 1 GB of RAM, and 2 GB of HDD space. It also has a few important dependencies, like libc6:i386, libasound2:i386, libasound2-data:i386, and libasound2-plugins:i386.

More details about the game can be found on GOG.com.
