BlackBerry's instant messenger service is now available on all major mobile platforms. The client can be downloaded from all OS stores, including Google Play Store, App Store, Windows Phone Store and BlackBerry World.

However, some Android users don't have access to Google Play Store, especially those living in China who did not root their smartphones. Others have smartphones that do not come with Google services installed, but their provide access to third-party stores.

This is one of the reasons BBM needs to be on as many third-party stores as possible. Today, BlackBerry announced that BBM has been released on Amazon Appstore, so those who are using this store instead of Google's will now be able to download and install the application if they haven't done it yet.

Unfortunately, the move comes a bit late, as many of those who wanted to take advantage of BBM's features have already installed the application from other sources.

BBM Shop, Message Retraction and Timed Messages are included in the latest version

Still, there may be others who just acquired their Android smartphone and prefer to use Amazon Appstore to download apps and games on their devices.

Now, the latest version of BBM that has just been released on Amazon Appstore brings more privacy and control features, as well as entertainment and utility options.

For example, BBM users will get Timed Messages, which allow them to decide how long they want their contacts to be able to see a photo or a text message they have sent.

Message Retraction is another important privacy feature, which enables BBM users to retract a message they accidentally sent to the wrong person. The recipient will then only see a “message retracted” note.

The application also comes with its own BBM Shop, where they can download new stickers for BlackBerry Messenger. Games, apps, music and other services are available via BBM Shop as well.
