Asus has already launched its highly anticipated Zenfone 2 smartphone in Taiwan and China, but these are not the only countries where the device will be available for purchase.

It looks like Asus is keeping its promise to launch the Zenfone 2 in more regions in Q2, and the next country to get it will be India. According to Indian blog Smartprix, Asus plans to introduce the Zenfone 2 in India on April 13.

Unfortunately, there's no telling whether or not the device will hit shelves on the same day, but if it's not, we suspect it won't take more than a week to make it available in stores.

When it comes to pricing options, the Asus Zenfone 2 should cost around $200 (€184), but this price is only for the low-specced version that might not be launched in India at all.

Asus is more likely to bring the enhanced Zenfone 2 model in the country, which is priced at around $280 (€257) in China, so Indian customers might get it for around the same price.

4GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB internal memory

Moving on to specs, those who have been expecting for months for Asus to launch the Zenfone 2 in India will be pleased to know that the smartphone will be equipped with a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, along with no less than 4GB of RAM.

The Zenfone 2 will pack 64GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. However, only the 16GB and 32GB versions are believed to arrive in India next month.

There's also an improved 13-megapixel camera on the back with autofocus, LED flash and video recording. The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display and offers LTE support, as well as dual-SIM.

Asus Zenfone 2 features a secondary 5-megapixel camera on the front for video calls and selfies. It's also powered by a decent 3,000 mAh battery that has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

Software-wise, the Zenfone 2 will ship with the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system out of the box, along with Google's full package of apps and services.
