14 DAY TRIAL // Video game publisher Ubisoft announces that it plans to launch a Season Pass for the upcoming Assassin's Creed Unity, which is set to include downloadable content that will offer gamers access to eight new hours of gameplay, as well as a chance to play an entirely new adventure linked to the series which takes place in China.
The main new campaign that will be delivered to fans of the open world franchise is called Dead Kings and allows players to follow the main character as he goes to a city near Paris, called Saint Denis.
Ubisoft states, "Explore the troubling city’s extensive underground universe - an ancient necropolis with an intricate network of catacombs and deep caves that hide the best-kept secrets of the deceased French kings. Use Arno’s new lantern to advance in the dark, fend off animals, and solve ancestral puzzles; or put out the lantern to explore the catacombs in the dark."
In Dead Kings, gamers will have to deal with the Raider faction, which is at the moment exploring the tombs for its own mysterious reasons, and Arno will get access to the new Guillotine Gun, which delivers explosives at long range but also has a powerful short range attack.
The Season Pass for Assassin's Creed Unity also includes 30 new items that can be used to customize the player character.
Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China is an entirely new downloadable game
But the most important piece of new content included in the Season Pass is the new Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China, which follows Shao Jun, the last remaining Assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood in the XVI century during the Ming Dynasty.
She returns to her home with the task of restoring her chapter of the organization after being trained by Ezio Auditore.
Ubisoft adds, "Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China is a 2.5D reimagining of the celebrated franchise. Experience parkour on the Great Wall, use martial arts and new weapons to kill from the shadows, and take the Leap of Faith in a vibrant setting designed for digital download."
Gamers will be able to employ martial arts moves and a new set of gear, including the Jian Sword and Foot Blade, and players will be able to use stealth or to take enemies on face to face.
The art direction is based on traditional brush painting.
Assassin's Creed Unity arrives on November 11 in the US and November 13 in Europe on the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
