Ubisoft confirms the ways it's trying to make it up to owners of Assassin's Creed Unity and its season pass for the many issues that have plagued the game, as those who have the regular title will get the Dead Kings expansion for free, while those who got the pass, which is now no longer available for purchase, will receive a free game made by Ubisoft.

Assassin's Creed Unity launched earlier this month and promised to usher in a new and glorious era for the series made by Ubisoft, thanks to its new historical setting and its overhauled mechanics that reimagined the stealth, exploration, or combat.

Unfortunately, the reboot is still plagued by plenty of different bugs and issues, not to mention some that deal with the framerate, the gameplay, and much more.

The studio has since apologized for these problems and has already released quite a few updates designed to solve some of the most pressing issues.

Free DLC and a free game are coming

Now, after rolling out a patch that had over 300 fixes, Ubisoft confirms that it's going to compensate owners of both Assassin's Creed Unity and of its season pass.

First up, those who own the game on PC, PS4, or Xbox One will get the Dead Kings DLC that was promised some time ago for free. The studio has no timetable on when the add-on will be ready for launch, but it will be made available as a free update for the actual game.

Those who got the season pass or the Unity Gold Edition, which included access to Dead Kings, will still receive their other advantages, such as the Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China title, but also a free game of their choice between The Crew, Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Rayman Legends, or Just Dance 2015.

Ubisoft is committed to improving the game

In a letter to fans on the official website, Yannis Mallat, the CEO of Ubisoft Montreal, the game's developer, pledges that the studio will keep on improving the game based on the feedback from users.

"In addition to the latest patch and this offer, we are committed to delivering further fixes for other issues you’ve raised. In the meantime, please keep your feedback coming – it has been both humbling and incredibly helpful as we continue working hard to improve the overall quality of the game. We are hopeful that with these forthcoming updates, everyone will be able to truly enjoy their Assassin’s Creed Unity experience," he explains.

As of yet, Ubisoft hasn't mentioned when the free games or the free DLC will be available.
