The team wants more data on other game issues

The development team at Ubisoft in charge of Assassin's Creed Unity announces that it has managed to identify one of the causes for crashes that take place in the Main Menu after pressing the Continue button, and it has a simple way for gamers to eliminate them.

Apparently, the Contacts that gamers have been adding, which are mostly friends or multiplayer partners, are responsible for the problems with the video game on all platforms, and at the moment, a full patch is being prepared for those who have been affected by such crashes.

At the same time, Ubisoft says that those who have not been affected should try and prevent future crashes by first making sure that they do not add any in-game recent player as a contact in Assassin's Creed Unity.

In addition, they should access the My Brotherhood menu of the game in order to go to My Contacts, then Focus on a Contact, and then remove all of them.

This might limit the game experience that some players get from Assassin's Creed Unity, but it seems that it is the only way to eliminate a possible crash at the moment.

Ubisoft says that all gamers who are still experiencing a crash in the menu after eliminating all their contacts should register for a support issue.

It's unclear when the development team plans to deliver the patch which eliminates the problem on all platforms.

Assassin's Creed Unity requires long-term support

On launch, Assassin's Creed Unity had plenty of problems on all platforms on which it was available, and many gamers reported that it was impossible to actually play it because of the framerate.

Since then, the developers have already deployed a few updates and another one is being prepared.

Unfortunately, some members of the community are still reporting problems and some of the changes introduced in the patches are affecting a minority in a negative way.

The contacts solution shows how deep the problems of the title run and it will be interesting to see how fast Ubisoft manages to deploy a full solution and make the workaround obsolete.

When Assassin's Creed Unity runs well, it delivers a very interesting portrayal of the city of Paris in the XVIIIth century and the core mechanics that have made the franchise a success so far.

There are plenty of enemies to take out via stealth or head on, and a wide cast of historical characters will also cross paths with the gamer.
