14 DAY TRIAL // Ubisoft confirms that Assassin's Creed Chronicles, the previously revealed downloadable experience in its long-running franchise, is now a full-fledged trilogy, which will take fans through China, India, and Russia in three installments that will launch throughout the year.
The Assassin's Creed series has seen many big titles launch over the years, and in 2014 things went so far as to see two major games launch, in the form of Rogue for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, and Unity for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
At that time, it was also revealed that Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China, a downloadable 2.5D side-scrolling brawler, was going to debut in early 2015.
Chronicles is now a trilogy
Now, Ubisoft confirms that the Chronicles experience is a full-fledged trilogy, with three chapters being set to appear throughout the year.
The first part of the experience, China, is set to launch in April for PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms. After it, the next two chapters are going to launch in the following months and take players to India and Russia, respectively.
The first chapter explores the Assassin vs. Templar conflict during the Ming dynasty, while offering Shao Jun as a protagonist. The following titles will feature Arbaaz Mir and Nikolai Orelov as the main characters, while moving the action to new countries.
"Players will journey to three distinct civilizations and time periods throughout history including the Ming dynasty at the start of its downfall, the Sikh Empire as it prepares for war in India and the aftermath of the Red October revolution. Each chronicle stands on its own with a unique setting, art style, story and Assassin, but is tied together narratively."
