“Let Peace Begin With Me,” reads the headline

Apple’s newly-hired retail boss, Angela Ahrendts, is an advocate for many things. She uses all sorts of media to communicate to the world, and LinkedIn is one of them. She’s at her second post since starting anew at Apple, and she is dispensing a heartwarming message.

Ahrendts is the kind of boss that doesn’t find it imperative to keep to one’s self. She’s as open with the people around her as she is open minded, and she loves to change the world for the better, if only through words at times.

First new post since “starting anew”

When Ahrendts started work at Apple this year, she felt she had to get a weight off her chest and relayed to all her LinkedIn followers what a tough decision it had been for her. She wrote a post titled “Starting Anew,” which got the media’s immediate attention and some well-deserved praise too. Her second post comes half a year later.

“On Wednesday, I was listening to the radio on my drive home and I heard an old song that took me back to my childhood,” Apple’s retail boss writes. “I hadn’t heard it for a while, and wow — in that moment, it really moved me. I remembered playing it on the piano growing up. Amid all the turmoil in the world today, hearing the lyrics again really hit home.”

She embeds the song in the post for everyone to listen and be moved by. The song is “Let There Be Peace On Earth” by B.J. Thomas.

Not just for LinkedIn followers, but for everyone

Having accommodated with her new role at Apple, Ahrendts is now focusing on improving every aspect of the company’s retail operations. And that includes the moral of the workers, who recently got a video message from Burberry’s former CEO, in which she revealed – among other things – the slated release date of the Apple Watch (spring 2015).

“I thought, I want my kids, my friends and family to hear this song. I want coworkers, partners, acquaintances to hear it. I just felt this overwhelming desire for more people to hear this wonderful message. After all, as leaders of families, households, businesses and communities, we all know the power of uniting people around strong, simple, positive messages,” adds the retail chief at Apple.

One can’t overlook the nature of Ahrendts’ new LinkedIn post, and how it targets everyone from her peers and her family to close friends and the troops at Apple whom she has great faith in. These personal messages undoubtedly make Ahrendts seem like the perfect person for the job left vacant by Apple’s longtime retail chief, Ron Johnson.
